This sweet original crib quilt, made about 100 years ago, is in great condition except that it has had some color loss in the yellow print (visible in the photos below) and in the stems, once green and now closer to brown.
Strong and sturdy; well made. Clean ~ this was recently washed and blocked professionally
This Pennsylvania German piece was originally made as a crib quilt ~ not cut down, as some quilts have been.
That is clear from seeing the borders and noticing that the scale of the pieced (and appliqued) Lily blocks is right for the small size of the quilt. It is also separately bound in the same Double Pink print of the border.
All hand made and hand quilted.
The back is two different prints ~ organized into "Bars" ~ a common feature of PA "Dutch" quilts. Great "Dutchy" colors.
