Hand appliqued clowns and elephant blocks alternate with a lovely medium blue solid cotton on this exceptionally finely made Baby Quilt.
Plain blocks are densely filled with gorgeous hand quilted feather wreaths and tight cross hatch "hanging Diamonds (1/2 inch grid).
Quilting measures 12 stitches per inch, stitched in white thread on the blue and blue thread on the white. Beautiful!
Dated in embroidery on the back "March 14, 1940". 40 x 60 inches.
