Gazillions of Pieces!
Who wants to count the number of pieces in this piece of work ? ! ?
Not I !
Each of the MANY triangular pieces measures about 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch x 3/4 inch ~ thousands and thousands of them ! At least 20, 000 pieces...
Although we don't know her, we think it is safe to say that this early 20th century Pennsylvania quilt maker was exceptionally industrious and determined.
She must be using scraps of scraps (or even "of scraps" again) from the family sewing. The pieces are so small. And the fabrics appear to range a few decades, at least... we see late 19th century cottons, as well as some from the 1920s or 1930s.
The quilt is hand quilted in a Clamshell or "Baptist Fans" pattern.
It's in good condition with some wear to a few of the fabrics, and a small ding in the binding but overall intact and sturdy. Printed cotton flannel back. Separately applied binding
