Ready for a Modern Bed

"P. Townes" embroidered (his or) her name on a cotton label, and attached the label to the back corner of this well made "Snowball" quilt.  

The date, 1987, is also embroidered there.
My mother must have asked a local quilt maker to reproduce a very similar antique indigo quilt in Mom's collection.  Mom really liked the old quilt, and wanted one like it to use on a bed.

"P. Townes" did a great job of precisely piecing LOTS of small pieces.
 S/he hand quilted in matching color thread. 

And so we have this large (84 x 90 inches), sturdy, and usable bed covering with a very traditional look. 

In Excellent Condition, with no wear, fading, stains, or fabric weakness,
the quilt has been recently professionally washed.  

Fresh and clean, strong and sturdy,
the new/old quilt is ready to go to a new home.
