One Very Special Quilt!

This beauty has it ALL ... or at least MOST of it.

This 19th century "Single Lily" has beautiful and unusual color,
exceptional hand quilting, lovely vining borders,
good size, appealing proportions, and superb condition.

What more could we ask?

See the next to last photo below -- the quilting has a
signature and date, Elizabeth ? ? 1850

Check out the hand quilting in the photos below.

This accomplished needlewoman covered nearly every square inch of surface
with her beautiful quilting designs and stitches.

She used Diagonals in the pieced and appliqued Lily blocks,
Feather Vines in the borders,
and Feathered Wreaths in the alternate blocks.
She even filled in with stipple quilting!

It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION,
with no holes, tears, stains or fabric weakness.

Strong and sturdy, fresh and clean...
It had a bit of surface soil, so we just last month had it professionally washed.
