What A Quilt !

Made during what is sometimes called the "Golden Age of Quilting,"
this early treasure has so much going for it.

This heirloom treasure measures a grand 98 inches square
with the Irish Chain center design surrounded with
wide, glorious Chintz Borders.

Beautifully made by a skilled, experienced quilt maker,
here we see both precise piecing and exquisite hand quilting.

This woman really showed what she could do with her superior hand quilting,
executed at 10 to 11 tiny, even stitches per inch,
counting one side only.

She chose several different quilting designs in the white alternate blocks ~
variations on wreaths and feathers.

She "filled in" all around these elegant patterns with very dense stitching,
so that every square inch of the white blocks is filled with texture.

In EXCELLENT CONDITION with no wear and no fabric weakness.
Some minor small areas of light discoloration, hardly noticeable.

Flat and lightweight.

Quilt has been professionally laundered recently.

Clean and bright,
and ready to delight even the most advanced quilt lover.
