A Very Happy Crib-st-mas!
This is "such a dear thing," as my Aunt Sophie used to say...
A true, authentic 19th century crib quilt ...
Many that we see described as "crib quilts" are cut down
are actually cut down from larger quilts.
This one had some restoration at some point -- very well done, and with
19th century, appropriate printed cotton fabrics.
So well done, that it is hard to spot....
In Very Good Condition:
sturdy and graphic
with slight, even mellowing of some greens
Well designed and well executed with a charming design,
unusual borders, and very good hand quilting in a variety of designs.
Check out the subtle Zig Zag border the quilt maker created with
her dense hand quilting!
Price: $825
