Unknown Quilt Maker
74 x 82 inches
Circa 1900
Initialed Pennsylvania German Quilt

This wonderfully graphic quilt, meticulously pieced,
and framed with three borders,
is fresh to the market.

The quilt is for sale for the first time in 20 years,
when it was sold at auction (Sotheby's, New York City) in June 1997.

As a bonus,
the original auction catalog in which it appeared will go to the next owner.

The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION
without holes, wear, tears, or stains.

Hand quilted, "by the piece,"
which helps emphasize the strong graphic quality.

The last owner of this quilt is, perhaps not surprisingly, an architect.
He and his wife had it on their wall here in Northern California.

This handsome beauty is all cottons, separately bound,
and initialed on the back "A L"

Price: $785
