Every week a different pattern was published in the Saturday issue of many major newspapers, along with a description of each design's historical significance.There were 24 patterns published.
Quilt is in Mint Condition ~ it appears unused.
CRISP! Strong and sturdy, flat and lightweight.
The hand quilting is exceptional, too.
It is executed in blue thread ~ looks like a single strand of cotton embroidery thread.
The quilting designs are also very unusual, detailed, and beautiful.
They fit the Art Deco period wonderfully.

The quilt's format is a very unusual one.
While the embroidered blocks do not depart from the original published designs,
the "set" or format of the quilt very rare, if not unique:
We have never seen the vertical and striped setting before.

"RHR" apparently finished the quilt in a very timely way:
The quilt is dated "1927" ~ the year after the patterns were published.
The signature and date are exceptionally strong,
the bold embroidery in contrast to the single thread style of the individual blocks.
