Ohhhhhhh ... the Quilting!

A Spectacular Example
of a 19th century applique in superb condition ~ and large enough for a modern bed!

Made about 150 years ago, circa 1860, this Rose Wreath is distinguished by
extraordinary needlework ~

both its marvelous hand quilting and fine hand applique ~
and its unusual borders, featuring two appliqued scalloped details.

The masterful hand quilting measuring 10 to 11 beautiful stitches per inch (counting one side only) covers the surface of this elegant heirloom beauty.

Slightly rounded corners and an elegant narrow border are two more signs that this was made by a skilled and experienced needlewoman.

Excellent Condition
without tears, fading or stains; strong and sturdy, flat and lightweight.
Appears to have been used little if at all.

Clean and Fresh ~ professionally washed recently.

A Civil War Era Treasure!
