"flaming" baskets

Unknown Quilt Maker
Collected in Washington State
70 x 80 inches
 Circa 1870

"Flaming" Baskets is Our Name ...
... for this design.

This wonderful Basket design may have a traditional name,
but we gave it our own pet name.

The double handles, each a different type, are certainly unusual.
We don't recall ever seeing handles done quite like these.

The quilt is very well made:
precisely pieced and pleasingly organized ~ with a great choice of colors.

The quilt maker added very complex hand quilting,
choosing feather wreath designs for the alternate blocks, and triple parallel lines elsewhere.

Very Good Condition.

Separately bound in Turkey red cotton.
