PRIZE WINNER!

In 1993, the Mississippi Cultural Crossroads, 
a non-profit community educational and cultural organization in Port Gibson, MS 
held a juried quilt exhibition – 
and this wonderful Folk Art quilt won a prize!

The blocks are fabric “Self Portraits” of nine Third Grade children 
enrolled in the local Port Gibson school. 

Well known African American quilter, Geraldine Nash, pieced the portrait blocks -- 
and then hand quilted the quilt ~ with verve!

Each portrait is unique, and Ms Nash quilted each block in an individual design too!

Documentation on the quilt from Mississippi Cultural Crossroads, 
including the program of the exhibition and a newspaper article, 
will be provided to the buyer of the quilt.
