A late 19th century Double Irish Chain quilt in near-perfect condition,
with no holes, tears, fabric weakness, fading or stains.
Precisely pieced and elegantly hand quilted ...
in lovely Feather Wreaths in alternate blocks,
and Complex Vines in the borders...
... all executed at about 11 tiny consistent stitches per inch
(counting one side only).
In addition to her very skilled needlework,
this quilt maker left us several signs of a finely made quilt:
a separately applied, very narrow binding,
and nicely "rounded" corners.
Good quilt!
