SPRING TULIPS
Unknown Quilt Maker
Collected in Oklahoma
80 x 86 inches
Circa 1940
Cottons
Such a Happy Quilt!
Spring must be almost here ...
floral quilts are popping up everywhere!
This wonderfully cheerful piece
is technically a comforter in that it is tied and not quilted.
The quilt has the feeling of a kit or pattern,
but we don't remember seeing it before. Have you?
We love how the quilt maker butted all the Tulips together,
and then "stacked" (by color) them into pyramids.
She also alternated her borders: two red and two green.
In EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Not a masterpiece of needlework "for the ages,"
but rather
a funky, bright, and charming mid-20th century textile.
Price: $195
** Sale Price ~ $165 **
SOLD
