TULIP BOWL
Mountain Mist Design
Unknown Quilt Maker
Collected in California
68 x 84 inches
Circa 1940
Cottons
Classic Mountain Mist with a (Mountain?) Twist!
In 1933, Mountain Mist, a division of Stearns and Foster,
published their pattern for "Tulip Bowl."
An innovative quilt maker followed the pattern pretty closely,
but then added her own touch to the borders.
The Rainbow-striped finish was not the Mountain Mist suggestion.
Well Made and in Excellent Condition
Flat and lightweight, square and with no fabric weakness.
Hand appliqued and Hand quilted
in a dense crosshatch and with half-feathered wreaths on the edges.
Separately bound (in solid red cotton) ~ and with nice rounded corners.
Price: $385
