Cottons
Fine, Fine Quilt ...
This handsome quilt has so many of the features we value in old quilts.
A range of printed cottons of the era ~ circa 1870.
These are set against the beautiful indigo blue alternate blocks, on point.
A pleasing set of proportions.
The is flat and lightweight, square, but with elegant rounded corners.
A narrow, separately applied double pink stripe cotton binding
finishes and frames the quilt beautifully.
Hand quilted in fine, even stitches ~
executed at 9 -10 stitches per inch, counting one side only.
Fan or Clamshell design.
In Excellent Condition ~ appears unwashed.
There are few scattered stains ~ the only apology.
Simple elegance.
